Regional Automation Strategy Lead

This is a pivotal role in driving the regional automation and robotics strategy for OMRON, requiring collaboration with senior managers and leadership across VIC/SA/TAS.
The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping cutting-edge solutions, securing funding and partnerships, and establishing OMRON as a leader in industrial automation.
As a key figure in engineering solutions, you will work closely with sales teams to design and deliver innovative products, present to executive levels, and support business transformation.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop Proof of Concept (PoC) frameworks and lead solution design and delivery, integrating automation and robotics technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies, secure funding, and establish partnerships with universities, industry leaders, and government bodies.
- Lead regional engineering teams, ensuring structured processes, high-quality delivery, and adherence to safety and business best practices.
- Represent OMRON at executive forums, trade shows, and industry seminars to strengthen market presence and influence.
Qualifications & Skills
- Engineering degree with at least 8+ years' experience in automation, robotics, or industrial solutions, including project management.
- Leadership skills: Proven ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams, take ownership of results, and drive change with resilience.
- Business acumen: Skilled in developing compelling proposals, securing funding, and shaping innovative business models.
- Stakeholder engagement: Excellent communication skills with a track record of building partnerships with government, universities, industry leaders, and internal teams.
- Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of automation and robotics technologies (PLCs, SCADA, robotics, Industry 4.0) with the ability to translate technical solutions into business value.
