Head of Governance - Risk Oversight Expert

We are seeking a seasoned risk management professional to join our Chief Controls & Enablement office as Head of Governance. This key role involves overseeing risk-related committee governance for The Star Sydney property, fostering relationships with the leadership team and external bodies such as regulatory authorities and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure thorough documentation of committees and forums related to risk
  • Support business leaders with committees, board papers, and control testing reports
  • Leverage technology to foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Review committee/forum minutes against charters to ensure meeting purpose is met
  • Respond to regulatory and third-party findings and develop strategies to implement recommendations

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a company secretary or in a corporate risk function in a highly regulated industry
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships and drive change
  • Thorough knowledge of Casino Control Act, Industrial relations, and OH&S laws
  • Tertiary qualification in legal, commercial, business, or corporate administration desirable
  • Ability to communicate effectively and promote positive employee relations
