Policy Advisor for Patient Safety

We are seeking a highly motivated Policy Advisor to join our team in the NSW Ministry of Health.
About the RoleThis is a key role in the Patient Safety First Unit, where you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement policies that ensure safe and high-quality healthcare across NSW.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the portfolio of serious adverse events reported to the NSW Ministry of Health via Reportable Incident Briefs.
- Liaise and consult with key internal and external stakeholders, including the Clinical Excellence Commission and Health Care Complaints Commission.
- Provide timely, high-quality advice to senior executives on key patient safety, clinical governance, and quality issues.
- Analyse, coordinate, review, and prepare responses to Health Care Complaints Commission recommendations and reports.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in policy development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- High-level analytical and problem-solving skills.
