As a dedicated Career Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in empowering young individuals to achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support and guidance to approximately 50 Transition to Work (TtW) participants, aged 15-24. This will include:
- Facilitating person-centred case management and mentorship to foster positive relationships and motivate further job placements;
- Conducting detailed assessments to identify areas of strength and weakness, and setting realistic goals to ensure successful outcomes;
- Collaborating with employers and staff to develop and implement effective strategies for securing sustainable employment or re-entering education;
- Providing individualised support and running facilitated group-based job search sessions to promote motivation and engagement;
- Referencing a range of services to address non-vocational issues and improve vocational skills.
This is an ongoing full-time position based across our Nuriootpa and Kadina sites, offering a competitive salary commensurate with skills and experience. As a public benevolent institution, we can also offer tax-effective salary packaging options.
To succeed in this role, you will require strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. You will also need to demonstrate your capacity for empathy, adaptability, and problem-solving.
A minimum Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development is essential, as is a current Working with Children's Check and valid drivers' licence. Experience within the Youth or Employment Services sector is highly desirable, as is a demonstrated track record of supporting young people into work and education.
