Workplace Injury Prevention Specialist
This role is a 12 month fixed term contract where you will support employees with work-related injuries to return to work, and provide guidance on health and hygiene compliance for operational management teams. You will implement injury prevention initiatives, physical and mental health programs and optimise workplace health management performance through engagement, training, monitoring, investigation and continuous improvement.
You will work as part of a national team supporting a business in Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Support injured employees to return to work following work-related injuries
- Manage the workers compensation portfolio for Western Australian employees
- Develop and implement strategies for preventing workplace injuries and improving wellbeing based on identified health risk factors
- Review quality of pre-employment and periodic medical assessments for specific risks
- Identify and report on key risk factors related to employee health and wellbeing
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a similar position in the industry
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of WA workers compensation legislation
- Formal Return to Work Coordinator (RTW) qualification (desired)
- Graduate qualifications in a Health related field such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise science, health management, nursing (desired)
