Job Title: Injury Prevention Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Injury Prevention Specialist to join our team. As an integral part of our Employee Relations Directorate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement injury prevention strategies to reduce workplace accidents and injuries.
  • Provide expert advice on workplace health and safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks associated with workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on workplace safety procedures and best practices.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor and evaluate workplace safety conditions and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in workplace safety and injury prevention.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A recognized tertiary qualification in a related field such as occupational health and safety, or a similar discipline.
  • Proven experience in workplace safety and injury prevention, preferably in a government or public sector setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations governing workplace safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
