About the Role
Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join its Technical Surveillance Countermeasures team as a Senior Electronic Surveillance Countermeasures Specialist.
The successful candidate will conduct technical security inspections, provide technical security advice, and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure Defence locations are protected from listening and recording devices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough searches using electronic equipment and physical searching techniques
- Analysing potential methods that adversaries may use to compromise a Defence facility
- Providing security advice around existing technical threats
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-tempo environment conducting technical security inspections at Defence locations across Australia and internationally.
About Our Team
The TSCM team sits within the Defence Security Division in Security and Estate Group. It is a high-tempo team that conducts technical security inspections at Defence locations across Australia and internationally.
The successful candidate will get to work alongside civilian and military personnel who work together to secure Defence information from adversaries, in an ever-evolving threat environment.
The role attracts a Building Defence Capability Payment, providing a premium in addition to the base salary.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong background in technical security, proven experience, and a thorough understanding of electronic surveillance methods and countermeasures.
You will also require:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Extensive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Lead small teams for domestic and international security operations
We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $120,000 per annum, plus a Building Defence Capability Payment.
