Job Title: Senior Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planner to join our team at the Town of The Blue Mountains. As a Senior Planner, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our community by providing expert advice on land use planning, development, and community growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project manage and review mid to large-scale development applications, including Official Plan amendments, Zoning By-law amendments, and site plan control.
  • Conduct research, prepare, and present Staff Reports to Council and other stakeholders.
  • Provide input on policy projects and programs, ensuring alignment with the Town's strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate and participate in the ongoing monitoring of the Planning Act, Provincial Policy Statement, and other relevant legislation.
  • Undertake and coordinate the review of development applications, conduct research, and prepare and present Staff Reports.
Requirements:
  • 4-year University degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related discipline.
  • Membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute, with registration as a professional planner.
  • Minimum of five years of planning work experience, including relevant municipal experience.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a well-defined sense of diplomacy and conflict resolution skills.
