Senior Planner Wanted for Major Infrastructure Project

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Planner to join our team in Gordonvale, Cairns, QLD, to work on a $300m Draper Road Water Treatment Plant and Pipelines project.

About the Project

  • The project involves the construction of a new drinking water supply to the Cairns community, including a 60 megalitres/day water treatment plant, an 8 ML clear water reservoir, and an all-weather access road.
  • The scope also includes the upgrade of the existing Behana Creek intake and pipeline upgrades, as well as the construction of reticulation main works to service communities and properties.
  • The project requires the use of planning software and tools, including Primavera Project Planning, Time Chainage Charts, and Earned Value Analysis.

About the Role

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful set-up and implementation of Project Controls processes on the project.
  • They will interface with the project team, partners, clients, stakeholders, consultants, designers, vendors, and subcontractors to manage the planning function in accordance with established procedures.
  • The Senior Planner will lead a planning and controls culture across the project, focusing on risk management, cost control, and SQE.
  • They will identify issues and opportunities and communicate them to the Projects team.
  • The Senior Planner will also be responsible for identifying the need for training in the use of planning and programming systems and project monitoring & controls.

Requirements

  • Tertiary degree in a relevant discipline, such as Engineering, Construction, Building, Sciences, Architecture, or Project Management.
  • Previous experience as a Senior or Lead Planner working on a major infrastructure project.
  • Demonstrated application of the principles of planning.
  • Use of planning software and tools, including Primavera Project Planning, Time Chainage Charts, and Earned Value Analysis.
