Job Description

Parks Asset Maintenance Coordinators play a pivotal role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our parks and open spaces.

Reporting to the Parks and Streetscape Unit, you will lead a skilled team responsible for managing and maintaining park assets, including footpaths, lighting, playgrounds, seawalls, irrigation systems, and recreational facilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality services and support strategic planning and capital works.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and coordinating maintenance of hard infrastructure in parks and open spaces.
  • Overseeing inspections, audits, and repairs of assets, including playgrounds, pathways, lighting, and waterplay parks.
  • Collaborating on asset management plans and providing input on design development.
  • Managing contractors and consultants to ensure service delivery standards are met.
  • Promoting a culture of safety, diversity, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Enhancing digital capability and service delivery through technology.

Requirements

Relevant tertiary qualifications or significant equivalent industry experience in the maintenance of hard infrastructure in parks and open space.

Experience leading and managing a customer-focused team.

Demonstrated financial and budget management, procurement, and contract management experience.

Experience in contract administration and contractor supervision.

Knowledge of equity and diversity principles, work health and safety, ethical practice, and probity at all times.

Understanding of or experience with business excellence frameworks or improvement initiatives/continuous improvement.

Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence.
