Senior Project Officer, Land Acquisitions

The National Parks and Wildlife Service is seeking a Senior Project Officer to contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment.

This role will play a key part in shaping and managing a high-performing program by establishing strong systems and processes to ensure efficient outcomes. You will work closely with stakeholders to provide strategic advice and insights.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in land acquisition and transfer programs, as well as expertise in analysis, problem solving, and project management.

  • Extensive experience managing land acquisition and transfer programs within tight timeframes and budgetary constraints.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Degree or equivalent qualifications in law, property valuation, land economics, or other relevant property related discipline and/or equivalent professional experience.

As a Senior Project Officer, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering complex acquisition initiatives that align with the strategic direction of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and NPWS. You will bring expertise in providing high-level strategic advice and insights to stakeholders, navigating emerging project challenges and supporting the development and execution of initiatives that align with defined plans, budgets, timelines, environmental goals and priorities.
