Defence Incident Management Officer

The Australian Government is seeking a Defence Incident Management Officer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage defence incident data entry and remediation with high accuracy.
  • Interrogate databases, manipulate data and provide information in response to Senate Estimates briefs, Questions on Notice and external agency requirements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Navy stakeholders to ensure accurate information flow.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

In the next two years, you will be instrumental in implementing the SAP-based CASE Management System across the Defence enterprise. You will play a key role in the team learning this new system and leveraging its reporting and data modelling features.

About Our Team

You will be part of a small, supportive team comprising Navy and APS staff. Opportunities for career progression exist within the section, and your work program will be designed to expose you to other activities undertaken by the team.

The section handles sensitive material, Freedom of Information requests, Navy Sensitive Issues, Past Workforce Issues, Inquiries and support to the Royal Commission for Defence and Veteran Suicides. Team cohesion and well-being are priorities in this work environment, with mechanisms actively progressed to monitor and maintain team member well-being.

We are looking for an individual who is motivated and able to work independently as part of a small, busy team. Respect for sensitive and private information handled by the team is essential, as is accuracy in all aspects of task completion. Adaptability and the ability to drive change will be critical as the team implements the CASE Management System.
