Speech Language Pathologist Job Overview

The role of a Speech Language Pathologist involves providing essential therapy services to students within schools and developing the capacity of these institutions to cater to diverse learners.

This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Engagement Wellbeing & Learning Team, Principals, and school staff, to implement a holistic approach to learning for all students. Regular school visits are an integral part of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Speech Therapy Services: Provide speech language pathology services to students in schools
  • Capacity Development: Develop capacity within schools to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Collaboration and Support: Work collaboratively with teachers, learning support teachers, therapists, administration, and external agencies
  • Staff Training and Development: Support and train teaching staff in program implementation and management
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Formal qualifications in Speech Pathology at Degree level
  • Membership Eligibility: Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
  • Methodological Application: Demonstrated ability to select and apply current methodologies in the provision of speech language pathology services in an educational setting
