Occupational Therapist Specialist in Neurological Rehabilitation

As an Occupational Therapist within our Physiotherapy team at North Canberra Hospital, you will play a vital part in helping patients regain their independence and quality of life after neurological injuries or illnesses. Your role will involve working closely with patients, carers, referrers, other health professionals, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve safe, high-quality patient care.
This position requires collaboration with the physiotherapy and multidisciplinary team to deliver services that support patient flow and maximise patient outcomes. You will be required to participate in an overtime, restricted on-call and shift rosters.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to rotate through various work areas, including the Emergency Department, Medical Assessment and Planning Unit (MAPU), Stroke Unit, Medical wards, Cardiorespiratory, Surgical/orthopaedic ward, Lymphoedema, Palliative care, Women's Health and Infants, and Musculoskeletal physiotherapy. A 12-month position in Lymphoedema is also included in this recruitment opportunity.

About the Work Environment
The ACT Government is constructing a new critical services building called 'Building 5', which will integrate with existing buildings at the Canberra Hospital campus. This project represents the largest clinical and operational change program to ever be implemented by CHS. The new Northside Hospital will be built on the existing Calvary Hospital campus in Bruce, providing more beds, increased services, and career opportunities.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong communication skills, a passion for occupational therapy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will require a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy degree or equivalent qualification, and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
