We are seeking a Principal Design Manager to lead and influence impactful projects.

This is an opportunity to provide technical leadership and design expertise across all phases of design development and detailed design.

The successful candidate will act as a Client Design Manager, responsible for the technical design of infrastructure solutions, prioritizing client needs and managing project risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage design teams to deliver high-quality results.
  • Develop business cases and manage design scope to ensure accurate scoping and pricing of work.
  • Provide strategic guidance on design management, standards, and technical issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with contractors through Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) to develop methodologies and cost estimates.

Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified engineer recognised under the Washington Accord – civil, hydraulic, electrical/mechanical, process.
  • At least 5-10 years of professional experience managing concept or detailed design of multidisciplinary engineering, infrastructure or industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in the planning and design of engineering projects for low to high-risk complexity multidisciplinary projects.
  • Well-developed strong communication skills, able to build relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
