Design Manager Position

As a senior professional, you will be responsible for leading project designs from concept to completion.

  • Determine project requirements and develop clear understanding of client objectives, expectations and performance outcomes.
  • Develop design brief, timeline and deliverables in consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Source and engage suitable design consultants, assess their deliverables, costs and timeframes, and coordinate teams to submit development applications and construction certificates in a timely manner.
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities, review design deliverables, provide best practice solutions/efficiencies, and ensure designs comply with relevant standards and agreed design requirements.
  • Understand design compliance, reporting procedures and processes, and demonstrate commercial and contractual awareness when dealing with external design partners and consultants.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the design team, ensuring behaviours are aligned with company values, and performance is meeting success criteria.
  • Support project delivery teams as necessary to achieve final occupation certification and handover.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications related to Design, Project or Construction Management.
  • Solid Building Design Project Manager experience across the entire project development cycle.
  • Experience in delivering large mixed use residential/commercial projects with a project value exceeding $30M.
