Stewart House School is a unique provision that caters for approximately 1700 students from public schools across NSW and ACT annually. The school features a Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum, including experiential learning through excursions across Sydney every second day.


The key objective of this role is to engage students with emotional difficulties. This requires high-level teaching skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.


Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching primary or secondary education to students with emotional difficulties.
  • Demonstrating a high level of expertise in social and emotional learning (SEL).
  • Developing programs, differentiating instruction, and evaluating the effectiveness of SEL curricula.
  • Implementing Department policies to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal students.
  • Utilizing well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and students.

Requirements
  • Unconditional full approval to teach is mandatory.
  • Applicants without a full approval to teach must commence the application process concurrently with their job application.
  • A light rigid license and participation in a two-day residential induction program are also essential.
