Job Title:

Information Security Specialist

Job Description:

The Information Security Specialist supports the development of secure technology solutions across the organisation. The Specialist contributes to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of secure systems and architectures that align with the City's Cyber Security Strategy and frameworks such as NIST CSF and SOCI obligations.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and recommend systems for security risks and provide expertise for mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in threat modelling, risk assessments, and security design reviews under the guidance of senior architects.
  • Contribute to the implementation of security controls across IT and OT environments, ensuring alignment with CIA principles.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, solution designers, and cyber operations teams to ensure security is embedded early in project lifecycles.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as SABSA, or CISSP.
