Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as a Claims Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing litigation, undertaking legal research, and handling legal project work for our business units.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Sydney with flexibility to work from home three days a week.
Key Responsibilities- Providing technical advice on legislative, regulatory, legal, policy, and guideline requirements affecting workers' compensation claims to support sound decision-making.
- Managing and reviewing legal advice related to common law damages claims and statutory workers' compensation benefits.
- Keeping up to date with case law and precedents affecting claims, premiums, and the scheme.
- Offering practical technical advice about strategic management, both generally and for specific claims.
- Collecting and reporting on scheme trends and individual cases.
- Assisting with legal notices and correspondence drafting and advice.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor of Laws or related tertiary studies in personal injury, workers' compensation, legal studies, jurisprudence, or alternative dispute resolution.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role with strong workers' compensation claims management, including litigation experience.
- An excellent understanding of Workers' Compensation legislation and associated regulations.
