Overview: The Registered Nurse (Multi-Unit, ED / Medical Surgical, Home Base Medical Surgical) is dedicated to enhancing and restoring patient health through the nursing process. This role involves collaboration with patients, physicians, and a multidisciplinary team, providing both physical and emotional support to patients and their families while overseeing the performance of assigned team members. This is a part-time role with flexible shift requirements, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strong organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Effectively apply nursing knowledge in emergency situations (e.g., Code Blue).
  • Maintain clear communication with patients, families, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Monitor and document patient behavior and assess patient outcomes.
  • Operate medical equipment competently.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests within the scope of nursing practice.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.

Qualifications:

  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Possess a Diploma/Degree from an accredited College/University, with a preference for BScN.
  • Hold specialized certifications and complete relevant courses as necessary.
  • Current BCLS, ACLS, and NRP Certification.
  • PALS/ENCP Certification.
  • Completion of TNCC/ATLS and CTAS Course.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias and Defibrillation.
  • 15 Lead ECG Interpretation Certification.
  • Critical Care Course is preferred.
  • CNA Emergency Nursing Certification is preferred.
  • Maternal Newborn Course is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience in an acute care environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Cerner software and related hardware is preferred.
  • Ability to manage a high level of physical and mental effort.

Compensation: As per ONA salary scale
