Job Summary

As a Reinsurance Specialist, you will play a key role in managing the reinsurance programmes for our organisation and providing senior level advice on liability related reinsurance issues.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in insurance or reinsurance underwriting or broking, with detailed knowledge of liability underwriting and/or claims management relevant to our organisation.

You will be responsible for developing an over-arching reinsurance strategy for liability classes in accordance with our risk appetite, collaborating with colleagues to ensure there is a co-ordinated approach to managing all reinsurance arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring there is a viable reinsurance programme in place that is relevant and cost-effective;
  • Identifying and proposing strategies for shortfalls or gaps in reinsurance coverage;
  • Managing the annual reinsurance renewal, including strategies, process, marketing and engagement with reinsurers;
  • Administration of reinsurance arrangements, including compilation of annual reports and management of counterparty risk;
  • Collaborating with underwriting teams, actuaries and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of exposure datasets.
