Job Title: Technical Claims Specialist

This role is an exciting opportunity to join a claims team in Sydney, working on a hybrid schedule that requires at least three days of in-office work per week.

The successful candidate will manage end-to-end processes for a mixed portfolio of general insurance claims, focusing primarily on liability claims for Local Government clients.

Key responsibilities include conducting accurate reserving, claims investigation, managing claims costs, and negotiating with third parties.

Candidates are expected to build and maintain rapport with clients, analyse entitlements of cover to clients, and deal with external reinsurers on a quarterly basis.

They must also foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers, underwriters, and reinsurers.

Requirements
  1. 7+ years of general insurance claims experience.
  2. Good written and oral communication skills.
  3. The ability to remain calm under pressure and work flexibly when required.
  4. Previous experience in providing indemnity advice to stakeholders.
  5. Deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to work in Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience in managing high-value public liability, property claims, and D&O claims.
  2. Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Law, Business/Commerce, Loss Adjusting, or ANZIIF studies.
  3. Previous client-facing experience.
  4. Previous experience in mentoring colleagues.
