We discovered Australia's newest Tier 1 gold mine, Gruyere, in 2013 and reached commercial production with our Joint Venture partner Gold Fields Australia in 2019. Our focus now is on discovering new world-class gold deposits to support our growth ambitions.
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and passionate project geologist to join our Queensland exploration team. As a key member of our team, you will support our strategic objectives by discovering high-value gold deposits.
Reporting to the Senior Geologist, this role is offered on a permanent basis and will be based in our Townsville office with remote campaign work required.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement exploration programs that aim to deliver on the Company's discovery strategy;
- Work collaboratively within a discovery-focused exploration team and business through effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- In-field supervision of the exploration work programs, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety & Environment and Social Performance standards;
- Ensure accurate collation of geological, geochemical, and geophysical data for interpretation, modeling, and targeting, to support reporting in line with JORC guidelines;
- Ensure appropriate application of QAQC procedures;
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, or higher;
- Previous experience in mineral exploration;
- Excellent work ethic, attention to detail, and safety leadership;
- An inquisitive mind with a passion for geology and a desire to discover a mineral deposit;
- A high degree of interest in working within a greenfields exploration team and environment;
- A good understanding of gold systems and relevant early and late-stage exploration techniques;
- Experience working with large datasets and ability to utilize geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to conduct geological interpretation and develop working geological models;
- Relevant understanding of QAQC procedures, drilling, and sampling practices and standard gold industry laboratory analytical methods;
- Proficiency with GIS and 3D modeling software;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Australian Manual drivers license with 4WD experience;
