Transport Operations Supervisor

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Transport Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our rail services. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating training programs, ensuring all team members are trained in accordance with statutory and company requirements.

The role involves downloading, analysing and communicating locomotive event recorder information, conducting investigations into accidents and incidents, and determining driver training needs for all zones. Additional responsibilities include performing efficiency testing, facilitating toolbox meetings, and assisting in the planning and administration of annual Safety Audits.

This is a key leadership position that requires a strong understanding of railroad operations, including train service, administration, customer service, and locomotive management. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to effectively communicate instructions, directions, processes, procedures, safety rules and regulations to co-workers, supervisors, and others.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

A Certificate IV in Train Driving is a requirement, along with a Certificate IV TAE 40116 in training and assessment or the ability to obtain the certificate. A minimum of 5 years job-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is also necessary.

The ideal candidate will have a high school education or general education development (GED) and possess a strong working knowledge and understanding of all railroad operations.
