We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President, Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice to our business units, managing legal risk, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

About the Role:

In this critical role, you will be the lead lawyer for litigation management, legal risk management, employment law matters, regulatory compliance/financial crime prevention legal matters, vendor contracts, and inter-affiliate legal documentation. You will work closely with our business units to establish a robust legal risk management framework, provide trusted advice, and control legal risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive legal risk management strategy
  • Provide timely and commercially sensitive legal advice to business units
  • Manage legal risk, including litigation management and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Support group-wide projects and litigation matters
  • Supervise and manage legal affairs in Asia

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 6-8 years of post-qualification work experience
  • Lawyer qualified in a common law jurisdiction
  • Prior experience in regulatory compliance/HR/litigation/legal risk management
  • Prior in-house legal experience in a financial institution
  • Broad experience across banking and lending, wholesale/investment banking products, and capital markets
  • Strong technical knowledge of legal framework surrounding finance transactions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage large workloads
