Culinary Leadership Opportunity

  • We are seeking a skilled Culinary Leader to join our kitchen team at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate chef to take on leadership responsibilities, manage kitchen operations, and deliver exceptional dining experiences in the heart of the Hunter Valley.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supervising sections of the kitchen during service, ensuring high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation. Additionally, they will assist with stock control, ordering, and menu development, maintaining a clean and safe working environment in line with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Kitchen Operations: Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations, including managing inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

  • Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise sections of the kitchen during service, guiding junior staff members and providing feedback and coaching to ensure high-quality performance.

  • Food Quality and Presentation: Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation, adhering to the company's culinary standards and expectations.

  • Training and Development: Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to support team growth and development, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Relevant trade qualifications in commercial cookery or equivalent experience.

  • Skills and Abilities: Strong culinary skills, ability to lead a section, work well under pressure, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role, with a passion for high-quality food and exceptional customer service.
