Audit Training Manager Job Description

This role oversees the development, delivery, and management of the audit training program to enhance quality within the organization's System of Quality Management.

Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining presentations, case studies, courses, webinars, and other materials for the audit practice. Additionally, this position involves identifying training needs through analysis of monitoring activities, performing oversight over compliance with training requirements, and promoting quality and efficiency initiatives.

  • Influencing programs to improve audit quality, including developing tools and guidance that promote both quality and efficiency.
  • Management of the training aspects of the firm's system of quality management, including developing a competency-based training framework and a comprehensive curriculum for the audit service lines, and ensuring compliance with that framework.
  • Designing and implementing relevant human resource development aspects of the System of Quality Management.

Liaison with stakeholders in the development, monitoring, and delivery of audit training, including heads of audit, quality, and learning and development teams.

Collaborating with the learning and development team to develop and improve systems for managing and monitoring compliance with firm training requirements, including consequences for non-compliance.

Developing, facilitating, and presenting training and self-study materials, including drafting learning objectives, course materials, case studies, and practice aids as a content author and/or technical reviewer.

Preparing thought leadership materials, including website articles, practice aids, and guidance statements.

Participating in monitoring activities to understand common quality challenges and development areas, such as hot or cold file reviews.

Engaging in external outreach activities related to audit quality and training, including industry events and working groups.

Assisting in RSM International projects relating to Audit or Assurance technical training as required.

This role may also involve assisting other service lines or external parties in developing their training frameworks according to APES 320 requirements.
