Our Client is a well-respected Local Government and community service located in Perth CBD.
They are seeking an Internal Audit Advisor to hit the ground running for a 3-6 month period with possible extension.

**Location: Perth CBD**
**Payrate: $60 +super per hour (This may be negotiable dependant on experience level)**
**Start date: ASAP**
**Finish date: Full-time Temporary 3-6 month contract**

**Hours: Office hours are typically 8:30am - 5pm with an hour lunch however there may be some flexibility with these times. 38 hour work week Monday to Friday.**

**Summary of the Position**
The Internal Audit Advisor supports the Manager Audit and Risk in ensuring that the audit plan is implemented in a timely manner by supporting the collaboration of internal stakeholders with the external audit providers.
The position provides high level support for Alliance projects and administration.

**Responsibilities**
- Assists the Manager Audit and Risk in coordinating and implementing the audit plan in a timely manner.
- Undertake initial quality assurance of audit reports provided by audit providers.
- Upload and verify the implementation of audit recommendations in the CGR system, including testing the embedment of the processes and negotiating revised due dates, where required.
- Complete compliance audits for regulatory bodies, as required.
- Produce high quality reports for presentation at the Executive Leadership Team and Audit and Risk Committee.
- Provide counsel and/or assistance to staff on audit/risk/business related matters.
- Follow up on the implementation of agreed internal audit recommendations and carrying out investigations as required.
- Undertake the coordination and reporting on the Inquiry and "Evolution to Excellence" reporting on behalf of the Executive Director Governance and Strategy
- Support the Governance Team in assembling the agenda for the ARC.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement principles for the Alliances.
- General administrative support as required.
- Other reasonably related tasks and duties as determined by your Manager

**Essential Criteria**
- Significant experience in the audit field.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team and with stakeholders at all levels.
- High level knowledge of Audit methodologies, risk management, business processes, financial management systems
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing deadlines and workloads and provide a high-quality service.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake analysis on large amounts of data and translate into easy to understand information.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a range of communication including reports, procedures, policy and presentations.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Thorough understanding of the current International Professional Practices Framework for Internal Auditing.
- A qualification in a relevant industry area.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Local or state government experience.
- Experience with the CGR system.
