Clinical Psychologist Job Description

As a clinical psychologist in this role, you will play a vital part in assessing and supporting the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.

  • This position focuses on addressing mental health challenges, addiction, and behavioural concerns within a counselling service model.
  • A deep understanding of social and emotional wellbeing within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough assessments of client behaviour and social-emotional wellbeing using observation, interviews, and psychometric tests.
  2. Develop tailored treatment therapies to support clients' needs, ensuring they receive holistic and culturally safe care.
  3. Maintain accurate client records in accordance with relevant policies and standards.
  4. Participate in regular meetings and training to maintain professional development and stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
  5. Ensure all counselling sessions are recorded in the Medicare billing system and verify appropriate referrals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • AHPRA registration as a psychologist is mandatory.
  • National Criminal Record Check is required.
  • Working with Children Check must be completed.
  • Immunisation Record including evidence of Health Worker Vaccinations is necessary.
