The Spiritual Care Practitioner plays a pivotal role in providing person-centred spiritual support to residents and their families across our sites. This position embodies our commitment to holistic care, acknowledging the significance of spiritual wellbeing in fostering autonomy, dignity, and emotional wellbeing for each resident.

As a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary team, you will foster meaningful connections and promote inclusive spiritual care that honours the diverse beliefs, cultures, and traditions of our community. You will work with sensitivity and insight to provide spiritual care that respects the unique needs and backgrounds of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering person-centred spiritual support to residents and their families
  • Fostering collaborative relationships within a multidisciplinary team
  • Providing inclusive spiritual care that respects diverse beliefs, cultures, and traditions
What You Will Bring

To excel in this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Theology, Counselling, Social Sciences or equivalent at a tertiary level
  • Clinical Pastoral Education or the equivalent reflective practice training (according to current industry standards)
  • Certified Level Two member of Spiritual Care Australia preferred: eligibility essential
  • Awareness and understanding of diverse cultures, beliefs, practices, and traditions
  • Capability in leading public and informal rituals and services
  • Driver's License and a willingness to travel to various Eldercare Sites
  • Knowledge of the process of ageing and dementia awareness
  • Understanding of issues and spiritual needs surrounding grief and loss
  • A thorough understanding of the spiritual and pastoral care components of palliative care
