About the Role

We are seeking an Operations Blast Crew Member to join our team at our Deer Park Quarry sites.

This role will involve working in a safe and supportive environment to enable each employee to succeed in their job role. As a valued member of our team, you will be trained and supported to perform duties within our blast crew, as a bench assistant, and eventually operate an MMU (Mobile Manufacturing Unit).

The MMU is a highly advanced, heavy-rigid vehicle fitted with the latest technologies and onboard computer systems. It is used to pump explosive products into pre-drilled blast holes on our customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and set the example of our key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, always' at all times acting with integrity and respect;
  • Operate blasting plant and machinery and assist with preventative maintenance;
  • Work in the field with your teammates to assist with the 'hands-on' delivery of explosive products down predrilled blast holes at quarry sites;
  • Work outdoors in a physically demanding environment;
  • Provide excellence in service to our valued customers;
  • Complete daily administration and customer interactions when required.

Requirements

  • A current Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's license is preferable;
  • Demonstrated previous experience working outdoors in all weather conditions in a physically demanding environment;
  • The ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening;
  • A motivated self-starter, positive, team-based attitude where you look out for your mates;
  • A basic mechanical comprehension would be highly regarded.
