We are currently seeking a highly motivated Trainee MMU Operator to join our team at Deer Park Quarry sites. Job Overview

This role is part of a team with significant blasting experience and offers a safe, high-performing, and supportive environment to enable each employee to succeed in their job role. As a valued team member, you will be specifically trained and supported to perform duties within our blast crew, as a bench assistant, and eventually operate an MMU (Mobile Manufacturing Unit).

An MMU is a highly advanced, heavy-rigid vehicle fitted with the latest technologies and onboard computer systems. It is used to pump explosive products into pre-drilled blast holes on our customer sites.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate and uphold Orica's key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, always' by acting with integrity and respect;
  • Operate blasting plant and machinery and assist with preventative maintenance;
  • Work in the field with your teammates to assist with the 'hands-on' delivery of explosive products down predrilled blast holes at quarry sites;
  • Provide exceptional service to our valued customers;
  • Perform daily administration and customer interactions when required.
Requirements
  • A current Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's license is preferred;
  • Demonstrated previous experience working outdoors in all weather conditions in a physically demanding environment;
  • The ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening;
  • A motivated self-starter, positive, team-based attitude where you look out for your mates;
  • A basic mechanical comprehension would be highly regarded.
