Community Engagement Specialist

Churches of Christ is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our community development team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining networks with local stakeholders, advancing tenant engagement initiatives, and implementing strength-based practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead project team members, volunteers, and stakeholders to effectively deliver community development programs.
- Assist in advancing tenant engagement initiatives, coordinating grant submissions, and implementing strength-based practices.
- Design and evaluate community-based initiatives that promote tenant participation and social well-being.
- Establish a peer-leadership program for individuals with lived experiences of homelessness and housing insecurity.
- Research and compile data to showcase program effectiveness, providing regular reports and success stories.
- Offer advice and training to internal stakeholders to enhance housing services and encourage staff involvement in community engagement activities.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a community development role or a transferable field.
- Degree qualification or equivalent demonstrated experience in community development, community/human services, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable competence in hosting meetings, events, and community forums for a range of stakeholders.
- Current driver's licence and the willingness to work in a range of locations.
- Experience hosting online forums, or the ability to learn online hosting skills.
- Understanding of Trauma Informed Practices and motivational interviewing techniques.
- Current bus drivers' licence.
- Experience in the social housing sector.
- Demonstrated experience in working with volunteers.
