Electrical Engineer

  • We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of electrical systems, including low-voltage and extra-low-voltage systems, PLC/telemetry, and instrumentation and control.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with motor lists, cable sizing, cable schedules, and input/output lists.
  • Responsibilities also include preparing electrical schematics, including single-line diagrams, starter schematics, PLC drawings, loop diagrams, interconnecting diagrams, general arrangement, and terminal block diagrams.
  • In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to technical reports on small to medium projects, including design reports and condition assessment reports.
  • Supporting proposal development and providing technical input for pursuits is also an essential part of this role.
  • The engineer will produce clear and accurate technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Field and desktop investigations of existing electrical infrastructure for capital upgrades will be conducted in collaboration with the team.
  • Preparing specifications and documentation to support procurement and project delivery is another key responsibility.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualifications.
  • 2–5 years of experience in an engineering consultancy, contractor, or asset owner environment.
  • Exposure to the Water / Wastewater industry preferred, ideally within Australia.
  • Working towards Registered Professional Engineer status.
  • Familiarity with standards, conceptual and detailed design, and design management of electrical infrastructure.
  • Awareness of electrical safety principles (e.g. protection, arc flash, earthing, hazardous areas, machine safety).
  • Experience with modelling software such as PowerCAD or PTW is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret authority standards and electrical requirements for greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Strong communication skills with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
