Payroll Project Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Project Lead to join our team at Continuum Recruitment. As a key member of our payroll team, you will be responsible for leading multiple payroll projects, including implementing timecard modules and automating onboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead payroll and HR system implementations, upgrades, or improvements.
  • Create project plans, define scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Monitor progress and ensure projects are delivered on time and meeting deadlines and standards.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders on time.
Team Leadership:
  • Review work completed by project analysts.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities while providing guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and IT teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Process Improvement:
  • Analyze current payroll processes and gap analysis.
  • Implement best practices and drive efficiency in payroll operations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and audit requirements.
Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks to payroll projects and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Data validation, review payroll imports files.
  • Conduct system tests to identify issues and ensure functionality before going live.
  • Ensure that all payroll processes adhere to relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
Training and Development:
  • Facilitate training sessions for team members on new payroll systems and procedures.
  • Ensure ongoing development and knowledge-sharing within the team.

Key Skills Required:

  • Project Management Expertise:
    • Proven experience managing large-scale payroll projects from start to finish.
  • PAYROLL KNOWLEDGE:
    • In-depth understanding of payroll systems, procedures, and compliance requirements.
    • Preferred Experience with payroll software (ConnX, Micropay)
  • Leadership and Communication Skills:
    • Ability to lead a project and communicate effectively across departments.
    • Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Analytical Skills:
    • Ability to analyze complex payroll data and processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Attention to Detail:
    • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly regarding compliance, payroll calculations, and data accuracy.
