Job Opportunity

Mater Mothers' Hospital has an exciting new role available for a Ward Steward to support ward staff through the provision of non-clinical services, ensuring patients' needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a smooth transition for new patients by orientating them to ward facilities and assisting with discharge processes.
  • Provide transportation services for patients who require wheelchairs to attend other departments within the hospital.
  • Ensure patients' basic comfort needs are met and maintain cleanliness of ward facilities and equipment.
  • Transport medical charts and pathology specimens.
  • Store stock effectively using the first in first out principle.

About You

To be considered suitable for this role, you will have:

  • Previous work experience in a service industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Initiative and target setting to enhance performance.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • The ability to follow established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
