Job Title: Associate Director, Therapeutic Justice

About this role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our leadership team as an Associate Director, Therapeutic Justice.

This is a full-time ongoing position offering a salary range of $157,341 - $180,991 (pro rata) plus superannuation benefits.

The successful candidate will have expertise in therapeutic and specialist criminal law practice and will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic objectives to improve the experience of clients and staff in therapeutic and specialist courts.

Key responsibilities include engaging with external stakeholders to drive a system-wide approach to therapeutically oriented criminal law services and contributing to the planning, service delivery, and continuous improvement of the Criminal Law directorate.

To be successful in this role, you will require strong knowledge and experience in therapeutic and specialist criminal law practice, as well as leadership and management experience gained within a public or private legal sector.

Our ideal candidate will be a current Australian practising certificate holder who is entitled to practise in Victoria as a principal of a law practice, with entitlement to practise in federal courts and courts exercising federal jurisdiction.

Key skills and qualifications:

  • Australian practising certificate entitling you to practise in Victoria as a principal of a law practice (mandatory)
  • Entitlement to practise in federal courts and courts exercising federal jurisdiction (entry on the High Court's Register of Practitioners) (mandatory)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in therapeutic and specialist criminal law practice
  • Extensive experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating high-impact projects and policies
  • Leadership and management experience preferably gained within a public or private legal sector
