Director Research Translation

We are seeking an exceptional and visionary leader to oversee the scientific outputs of our Centre, ensuring they are of the highest quality and capable of rapid clinical translation.

The role involves identifying, supporting, and enabling the swift translation of new discoveries, fostering collaboration to enhance productivity, reducing duplication, and facilitating researcher access to advanced technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily scientific operations and collaborate closely with senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Support the Centre Director and respond to advice from the International Scientific Advisory Board.
  • Identify and pursue new global scientific opportunities to enhance the Centre's outputs.
About The Cumming Global Centre for Pandemic Therapeutics

Our Centre was established within the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, a joint venture between the University of Melbourne and Royal Melbourne Hospital.

With a 20-year mission to advance therapeutic development for pandemic pathogens, we aim to bring together leading scientists worldwide to develop innovative platform technologies using a 'plug and play' approach.

This approach allows rapid adaptation of treatments to new pathogens, significantly shortening development times and transforming pandemic management.
