Functional Analysis Expert

The Functional Analyst plays a vital part in ensuring the development and maintenance of critical systems for risk management and wholesale trading.

This role leads requirements gathering, analysis, and design across multiple business units, collaborating with stakeholders and delivery teams to create technology solutions that meet business needs.

To excel in this position, you must have expertise in data analysis, SQL skills, and experience in functional or business analysis roles in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead requirements gathering and functional solution design during project delivery, aligning with business objectives.
  • Analyse business processes and service architecture to identify areas for improvement and inform solution development.
  • Evaluate and present solution options, considering their impact on processes, maintenance, and support requirements.
  • Perform detailed data analysis to ensure accuracy in functional specifications.
  • Produce key functional deliverables, including documentation, UI/UX designs, test plans, and knowledge articles.
  • Support testing activities by validating solutions, reviewing test cases, and assisting with user acceptance testing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 8 years of experience in business and IT environments in functional or business analysis roles in an agile environment.
  • Experience in Front/Middle/Back office businesses, particularly in Energy Risk Management and Wholesale Trading Markets.
  • Fundamental data analysis and SQL skills.
  • Preparation of documentation for various audiences (business cases, functional requirements, business process maps, presentation packs, system documentation, and UI/UX design documents).
  • Facilitation of workshops and presentations to all levels of management within IT and business areas.
  • Experience leading business/functional analysis activities and team members.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing stakeholders.
