Key Responsibilities:
- Support intake staff by assisting with insurance verification, ensuring that all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Initiate authorization requests with insurance companies and government payers, obtaining the necessary information to facilitate efficient order fulfillment.
- Communicate and report any insurance-related issues to case management, providing timely updates on outstanding authorizations.
- Monitor outstanding authorization requests, initiating follow-up as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with insurance changes when prior authorizations are required, maintaining accurate records to avoid delays.
- Manage phone calls related to prior authorizations, providing clear communication and resolving any issues promptly.
Requirements:
- A graduate of an accredited high school or equivalent education.
- The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Detailed and team-oriented approach, with effective communication and organizational skills.
- Proven proficiency in computer applications, utilizing multiple systems simultaneously to streamline workflow.
- Knowledge of the HME/DME industry is a plus, with a strong understanding of regulations and guidelines.
