Collections/Accounts Receivable Specialist

Key responsibilities include communicating with customers to maximize debt collection, negotiating payment plans or settlements, and maintaining a professional demeanor.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Respond to inbound/outbound calls and emails as the first point of contact.
  • Maximize debt collection through effective communication with customers.
  • Negotiate acceptable payment plans or settlements for both parties.
  • Record all communication and payment details in the customer database.
  • FOLLOW up on payment arrangements to ensure they are honored.
  • Identify, escalate, and assist in resolving debt queries and disputes.
  • Maintain good relationships with brokers and customers throughout the collections process.
  • Update management and sales teams about emerging problems, including uncollectable accounts.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification (High school diploma or equivalent) with good academic standing
  • Experience in collections or accounts receivable is beneficial
  • Liaising with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with proven ability to overcome obstacles and achieve results
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, sense of urgency with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to acquire knowledge and skills to successfully maintain collection KPIs
  • Strong customer service ethic with internal and external customers/staff
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good administrative skills
