About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team as an After Hours Crisis Response/Triage Worker, working in a casual capacity. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people who have experienced recent sexual assault.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide face-to-face crisis advocacy and intervention to individuals of all genders who have experienced recent sexual assault.
  • Work collaboratively with on-call forensic doctors/nurses to provide comprehensive care.
  • Contact, consult with, and coordinate with other members of the Yarrow Place Daytime and after-hours service team.
  • Offer referral information and support to those seeking counseling, legal assistance, or other help related to recent sexual assault.
  • Liaise closely with members of other agencies and statutory authorities to ensure a cohesive response to daytime and after-hours sexual assault services.
  • Support new Crisis Response Workers on the after-hours panel.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Maturity and self-direction, with the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a cohesive team culture.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide crisis counseling and support to individuals who have experienced recent rape or sexual assault.
  • Proven ability to organize, coordinate, consult, liaise, and communicate effectively.
