Adoption Services Social Work Professional

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our Adoption Services team as Senior Social Workers. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care for vulnerable children and supporting families through the adoption process.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families. As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Providing professional evaluations, training, and assessments of prospective adoptive parents and individuals involved in the adoption process.
- Counselling birth parents who are considering placing their child for adoption.
- Delivering an office-based service to the community that provides information on adoption.
- Collaborating with a care team to ensure that children under the Minister's care receive a supportive experience that promotes their development, stability, and security.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree-level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Advanced assessment skills, including the ability to gather and analyse information, evaluate risk factors, write detailed reports, and make informed recommendations for approving prospective adoptive parents.
- Experience in casework, supporting families throughout the adoption journey, guiding children's transition into their adoptive families, and developing effective interventions that promote positive outcomes for children and their families.
