Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Center Engineer Trainee to join our team. As a Data Center Engineer Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting with the management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with procedures and legislation.

You will also maintain performance benchmarks, analyze data, and prepare reports on infrastructure operations and maintenance. Additionally, you will generate Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets as directed.

Other responsibilities may include contributing to documentation related to business and facility operations, supporting rack installation and power/cooling provisioning within constraints, participating in routine maintenance and emergency services on critical systems, learning about the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities, and more.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline, or relevant technical experience (military, trade school, TAFE).
  • Experience in Data Center Engineering/Operations.

As a Data Center Engineer Trainee, you will play a crucial role in delivering high safety and security standards while providing extensive capacity at minimal cost, within an inclusive culture that fosters innovative ideas.

Key job responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting with the management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  2. Maintaining performance benchmarks, analyzing data, and preparing reports on infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  3. Generating Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets as directed.
  4. Contributing to documentation related to business and facility operations.
  5. Supporting rack installation and power/cooling provisioning within constraints.
  6. Participating in routine maintenance and emergency services on critical systems.
  7. Learning about the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.
  8. Assisting with facility asset management and inventory control.
  9. Participating in construction and operational meetings as needed.
  10. Supporting Work Order compliance and reviewing contractual SLAs.
  11. Interfacing with Infra Ops teams for daily operational needs.
  12. Assisting in resolving infrastructure engineering or service issues.
  13. Delivering exceptional customer service.
  14. Meeting operational hours, shift, and on-call requirements during rotations.
