Data Centre Facility Manager, Operations, IT Support

About the Job

This position oversees the operation and maintenance of data centre facilities to ensure high reliability and performance while controlling costs. The Data Centre Facility Manager will be responsible for managing teams in all facets of their career, including 24x7 engineering technicians.

The role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting, maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting mission-critical data centre facility equipment. This includes electrical support equipment (standby diesel generators and fuel systems), 3-phase electrical systems (switchgear, UPS, PDUs, batteries), and related systems.

To achieve this, the Data Centre Facility Manager must engage in improvement projects, driving them from conception to completion. They will also oversee all aspects of the data centre's critical physical infrastructure and manage teams of engineers.

The ideal candidate has an excellent understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical Data Centre Operations. A proven track record of people management and developing teams is essential.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • An excellent understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in critical data centres.
  • A proven track record of people management and developing teams.

Holding or being able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance is required.
