Job Role

A Data Centre Operations Technician will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of critical infrastructure.

This role involves working with diverse teams, including software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers.

The Data Centre Operations Technician will supervise specialist vendors, act as first responders to incidents, and become subject matter experts for the facility.

  • Review routine and corrective maintenance on critical systems such as switch gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Collaborate on the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.
  • Develop projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Degree or technical certification in mechanical/hvac/electrical engineering or experience at technician level in a critical environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience on mechanical or electrical equipment.
  • Experience operating electrical or mechanical systems in a mission-critical environment.
