Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive leader to drive health, safety, and environmental outcomes across our operations. As an HSE Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in building a proactive, people-focused culture across our teams.

About the Role

This newly created position reports directly to the Head of Health, Safety & Environment Operations. You will act as a strategic partner to our operations leaders, lead initiatives, manage risk, support incident investigations, and coach teams to continuously improve HSE performance across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement our HSE strategy, plans, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Provide expert guidance and practical support to operational leaders across multiple sites.
  • Investigate health, safety, and environmental incidents; identify root causes and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Build capability at all levels through training, mentoring, and hands-on partnership.
  • Contribute to broader sustainability initiatives in collaboration with our Environment and Sustainability team.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HSE processes, reporting, and compliance across our Intermodal, Linehaul, and Fleet teams.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related field.
  • Significant experience in a similar HSE advisor or business partner position, preferably in transport, logistics, or heavy industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in incident investigation and driving continuous improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and influencing skills.
