Principal Engagement Officer

Job Description:

This role is responsible for leading the engagement team in the delivery of a pipeline of infrastructure projects across South Australia. As a key member of the Public Affairs division, you will contribute to the successful implementation of projects that connect people and places.

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and implementing engagement strategies, with a focus on maximising social value and driving 'best for project' outcomes. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, managing and mentoring team members to achieve project goals.

With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will prepare engagement collateral with a high level of attention to detail. A degree in a relevant discipline and IAP2 qualifications are desirable. Holders of current Working with Children Check and National Police Check will be considered favourably.

As part of this role, you will collaborate with a supportive engagement team to deliver South Australia's record infrastructure pipeline. You will also work closely with marketing, communications & digital experts to ensure effective recruitment processes.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement engagement strategies to enhance public participation in infrastructure projects.
2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive project outcomes and meet social value objectives.
3. Prepare engagement collateral, including reports, presentations and other materials as required.
4. Manage and mentor team members to achieve project goals and develop their skills.
5. Build and maintain relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing engagement strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to maximise social value and drive 'best for project' outcomes.
  • Experience managing and/or mentoring team members.
  • Proven ability to accurately and concisely negotiate outcomes that provide a resolution to all involved parties.
  • Hold a degree in a relevant discipline.
