Work as a Child Counsellor with our team to deliver quality professional support and services for children aged 0-12. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Counsellor to join our Men Choosing Respect program, based in Midland.
The position involves both office-based and outreach counselling to promote safety, wellbeing, and development for children and their families. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing trauma-informed counselling to children, young people, and families, including assessment, case planning, and therapeutic interventions.
- Offering early intervention and family support to promote child development, healthy attachment, protective behaviors, and life skills.
- Conducting risk assessments and safety planning for clients affected by family and domestic violence, including outreach services as required.
Key qualifications and experience include:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in child counselling and working with families experiencing complex needs, including family and domestic violence.
- Demonstrated experience in case management, intake, assessment, and referral processes.
- Current National Police Certificate (valid within the last 12 months).
- Valid WA Working with Children Card.
- Valid WA Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle for outreach purposes.
