Join our team of dedicated professionals and become a Child Development Specialist. This is an exciting new opportunity to work with children aged 0–12, providing high-quality, evidence-based services that promote safety, wellbeing and development for children and their families.

The Role

This full-time, permanent position involves both office-based and outreach counselling. You will work within a therapeutic framework, ensuring the delivery of quality professional counselling, support, accommodation, mediation and training services in various locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide trauma-informed counselling to children, young people, and families, including assessment, case planning, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Offer early intervention and family support that promotes child development, healthy attachment, protective behaviours, and life skills.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety planning for clients affected by family and domestic violence and provide outreach services as required.
Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development, or related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience providing child counselling and working with families experiencing complex needs, including family and domestic violence.
  • Demonstrated experience in case management, intake, assessment, and referral.
  • Current National Police Certificate (within 12 months validity).
  • Valid WA Working with Children Card.
  • Valid WA Driver's License and access to a reliable car for outreach purposes.
